Gingerly Country

just the ramblings of a crazy ginger

Its Just Me

Hello, and welcome to my blog; Gingerly Country. Whether you stumbled upon my page by accident, or by your own volition; I’m so glad you are here. I’d like to think of this blog as my own cozy corner in this vast, busy world. Here, I can be myself. Here, I can express my love for my faith, my family, all things homemade, and my two hypoallergenic, hyperactive fur babies.

A little about myself… My name is Katey, and I’m a ginger. Yes – that means red hair, freckles, and pale skin ( I could light the beacon of Minas Tirith if your curious). I am the third oldest of twelve children; seven girls, five boys. Six redheads and six brunettes. My parents are two of the most amazing people you will ever meet, and taught me what it meant to have a Godly marriage.

Six years ago I married the love of my life, James. Our personalities are polar opposites, but we just make sense together. He is the calm to my crazy, and I’m the ginger to his spice cabinet. Yes I know – Corny; but you know it was cute! We love to go hiking, cruising, spending time with family, and our two fur babies, Bucky and Winnie.

So why have I decided to start a blog? Well, its simple – I love to write. I believe that when we are born, God blesses us with gifts. Through the years, I’ve come to realize that one of my gifts was writing (accompanied by a large, vivid imagination). For me, I could express myself better with the pen or a keyboard than I ever could verbally. I could always convey my feelings and my ideas on paper, versus the word vomit that comes forth. This love of writing led to poetry, song writing, and short stories. However, I’ve decided now to channel my love for writing into this blog exploring everyday life and my everyday experiences.

I don’t know where this blog will go. Goodness, I don’t even know if anyone will read it. Yet – Here I am, and here I will stay. So if I haven’t bored you to death or scared you off, I do hope to see you again on my blog.

Blessings!

-Katey
